Hosted for convenience, local for control

Same account and the same tools either way.

Hosted with OAuth

Add https://mcp.groundmail.dev/mcp to your client. It discovers OAuth, you approve access in the browser, and no key lands in a config file.

Local stdio

Run npx -y groundmail-mcp with GROUNDMAIL_API_KEY set. Nothing to host, nothing to keep running.

Local HTTP

Start groundmail-mcp with --http for clients that prefer a URL. Requests authenticate with a Bearer API key.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I have to paste an API key into my editor?

No. The hosted server at mcp.groundmail.dev supports OAuth: add the URL, sign in to Groundmail in the browser, and approve access. A Bearer API key still works for scripts and CI.

Does the MCP server cover the whole API?

No. The tools are a curated set for agent workflows. Use an SDK, the CLI or the REST API when you need the full surface.

Which clients work?

Any MCP client. We document setup for Cursor and Claude Code, over stdio, local HTTP or the hosted server.
